Attack the best form of defence for Everton tonight

EVERTON might have had one cup scare this week – but being frightened of Chelsea is not the way to go about their Carling Cup semi-final first leg at Stamford Bridge tonight.

I think the worst thing Everton could do tonight is sit back and play it cautious, hoping to keep it tight ahead of the home leg in two weeks’ time.

Yakubu is just Goal-den

WHEN David Moyes committed a record-breaking transfer fee to bringing Ayegbeni Yakubu to Goodison Park, he was guaranteed one thing – goals.

The Nigerian striker has consistently scored goals through his career, even when playing in teams at Portsmouth and Middlesbrough which were not that strong at the time.

RAFAEL BENITEZ’S forward planning saw Liverpool take a backward step in the race for the Premier League title.

However Arsenal’s defeat at Middlesbrough means the setback at Reading is by no means a fatal blow to Anfield’s hopes.

IT seems Tom Hicks was right after all. Rafael Benitez should focus on coaching and training his team – because he seems to be doing a pretty good job of it at the moment.
